Northam

The Northam campus is the primary TAFE facility in the Avon Region, servicing the Town of Northam and Shires of Toodyay, York, Northam, Goomalling, Dowerin, as well as all external students. This campus also serves as the administrative centre for all C.Y. O'Connor College of TAFE campuses and centres.

Northam campus is fast becoming known as a centre of excellence in Primary Industries, deliverying a large range of training options throughout the Wheatbelt, including Aquaculture, Horticulture, Pig Production, Grain Production and many more. The traineeship and flexible delivery programs have resulted in tremendous success for both students and employers in these fields.

C.Y. O'Connor College of TAFE provides a large range of training in the fields of Business and Information Technology. Northam campus offers an excellent simulated Business Office Unit, where students gain hands-on office experience, without leaving the campus.

Pre-Apprenticeship courses are popular with students aiming to get an Apprenticeship. Engineering, Automotive, Building and Construction trades are all available. The Rangers' training offered by CY O'Connor TAFE, is regarded as the best available in W.A., according to industry leaders.

Indigenous students are offered specifically designed courses, from Visual Arts to Multimedia and Cultural Tourism. Indigenous students are also welcome and invited to enrol in any other courses they are interested in and qualify for.

The Northam Campus Equity Officer can help students overcome any hurdle which may make access to training difficult. For example, issues may relate to being too far away from a campus, needing ramp-access to a classroom, requiring course content in braille etc.

Narrogin


The Narrogin Campus is the primary administration and academic centre for the Southern Region. This region covers 14 shires: Brookton, Corrigin, Cuballing, Dumbleyung, Kondinin, Kulin, Lake Grace, Narrogin, Pingelly, Wagin, Wandering, West Arthur, Wickepin and Williams. The total area of 43,691 square kilometres is approximately two-thirds the size of Tasmania and over 18 times the size of the Australian Capital Territory. The population of the region is approximately 19,500.  

In addition to the Narrogin Campus, the region has satellite centres at Kondinin and Pingelly. 

The Narrogin Campus is situated in a double-storey building built in the early 1920's. While the outside is historically picturesque, Narrogin has modern facilities for a range of courses including multimedia, information technology and business.

Merredin


The Merredin Campus provides an educational opportunity for people of all ages in the eastern region. This region covers the area east of Quairading, as far as Narembeen up to Southern Cross and North including Wyalkatchem as far as Beacon. It also encompasses the shires of Merredin, Kellerberrin, Mukinbudin, Bruce Rock, Nungarin, Bencubbin, Koorda and Westonia. All other delivery in the region is through the support of the Telecentre Network, Shires, Schools and employers.

In addition to the Merredin Campus, the region has satellite centres at Kellerberrin and Quairading.

Flexible delivery at the Merredin campus has been extremely successful. We try our level best to cater to all the needs of our clients by offering a wide range of delivery modes.

Moora

 

The Moora Campus is the newest campus in C.Y. O'Connor College of TAFE.Completed at the end of 2000, it has a large workshop facility, an accredited nursery, two general purpose classrooms, an information technology room, business studies room and conferencing room. Students also have a common room in which to relax, take a break and prepare meals, tea and coffee.

Staff work from a modern administration centre which is the hub for training and education in the Northern Region. This region encompasses the Shires of Dalwallinu, Wongan Hills, Dandaragan, Gingin, Chittering and Moora.
