2009 Enrolment Fees and Charges

TAFEWA students are not included in the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) and hence do not have to pay HECS.

You must pay all of your fees at time of enrolment; you are not officially enrolled with CYOC until such time as your fees are paid.

TAFEWA fees are paid by the semester at the time of enrolment and the total charge is made up of three types of fees, the enrolment tuition fee, the materials (resource) fee and the handling fee.

These three components are explained below:

 1.  Enrolment Tuition Fees

The TAFEWA enrolment tuition fees apply to all vocational award courses/qualifications including apprenticeships and traineeships and vary from course to course.  The fees are calculated based on the nominal hours assigned to each unit of competency that you enrol into.

2.  Materials (Resource) Fees

The materials fee covers materials purchased by the College to be used by students during their studies in the qualification.  Fees will vary according to each subject and qualification.

Note: Some courses such as Art and Design and Metal Trades incur higher materials costs.

3.  Handling Fee

A handling fee of $11.50 per unit of competency is charged for any external of flexible delivery enrolments (where applicable).  This is to cover the cost of stationery, envelopes and postage.

OTHER NOTES ON FEES & CHARGES

How much does it cost?

Due to State Governments 2009 Budget Training Initiative students who wish to enrol in RPL studies will be charged course (tuition) fees at half the rate they normally would be.  RPL enrolments normally attract the same tuition fees as any other TAFE enrolment.  However for 2009 enrolments the following conditions apply:

Non-concession applicants will be charged 50% of the course fee for those units in which they are applying for RPL.

Concession applicants excluding Newstart, Youth allowance or Job Seeker will be charged 25% of the course fees for those units in which they are applying for RPL.

Youth allowance, Job Seeker and Newstart will be eligible for exemption from all tuition costs.

In cases of financial hardship, you may pay by method of instalments by entering into a payment plan with the College. However, a deposit of $50 is required to secure your enrolment and your payment plan can only consist of a maximum of 4 payments. Books cannot be paid for by means of a payment plan.

TAFE colleges may refuse admission to students who have defaulted on the payment of fees and charges and are subsequently classed as Debtors to the College and students should be aware that if any fees and charges owing are not paid in full, admission will be refused.
